Gorgeous Gift Bags and Quick and Easy Cards

Hi Crafters

As promised (a few weeks ago now) I have uploaded my photos and can share with you the gift bags I have been making - YAY!

As I am still a fairly new demonstrator I've been looking for ideas of what else I can make with my wonderful Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers and Cardstock other than just cards.  Time to branch out into 3D projects.  So by scouring YouTube and Pinterest and the wonderful Facebook group we demonstrators have access to, I found a fantastic tutorial by Ophelia Crafts on how to make this gorgeous little gift bag.

You can watch the tutorial here:

All you need is one sheet of Designer Series Papers and one sheet of co-ordinating Cardstock and some Tear and Tape adhesive or Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue - whichever is your preference for 3D projects.  For my first attempt I chose Sweet Sugarplum 2016-2018 In Color DSP (unfortunately this is now discontinued but keep reading for the New and Current 2017-2019 In Colour DSP's) and co-ordinating Sweet Sugarplum A4 Card. Using left over strips from two sheets of the double sided DSP, I created the 4"x4" cards which you can see more of on my "Melting old and new" blog post.

This gift bag is the purfect size to hold all 5 of the little notecards and has a sturdy rectangular base to slot them into, as seen below:

I loved how quick and easy these gift bags are to make, so continued to play around with the dimensions to make some slightly taller ones too:

The next couple are made from the two designs of Lemon Lime Twist 2017-2019 In Colour Fresh Florals DSP and co-ordinating 12"x12" Cardstock.  As I had also made some daisies out of the card, I forgot to cut off extra strips for the top and bottom of the second bag, so on the one on the left, you can see that at the top I just folded half an inch over so that the second side of the DSP could create the top of the bag and left off the strip on the bottom.  Which do you prefer?

Again, using an inch strip from the DSP's I created co-ordinating cards to go with the gift bags and added Daisies using the Daisy Punch and Daisy Delight Photopolymer Stamp Set.  We are expecting the Daisy Punch to be back in stock late August, so if you would like to get your hands on it keep checking back for updates!

These giftbags and cards will be the basis of my first workshop being held on 5 August 2017.  I'm so excited to share my love of crafting and Stampin' Up! with friends.  If you too want to have a go at making these gorgeous giftbags and quick and easy cards, have a look at my events page for available dates and get in touch.

Ruby Wedding Anniversary - well it's actually Cherry Cobbler but sshhh!

It's Friday again already!  I can't believe how fast this year is flying by!

My apologies I realise I promised gift bags a few posts ago but you may still be waiting - they are coming soon I promise!

Whilst you're waiting, I wanted to quickly share a card my wonderful friend asked me to do on behalf of her dad...to her mum!  Her dad had been struggling to find a Ruby Anniversary card that was just right for her mum for their special day, so she kindly passed his request onto me.  I was told he wanted a rabbit and maybe a nice verse...well, looking through my limited stash I didn't have any verses to hand (a crime I know as there are SO many wonderful verse stamps available, note to self buy some on next SU! order!) but I did have a spring bunny from LOTV and combined with some Cherry Cobbler colour, I created them this:

The card is a 6x6 Whisper White thick cardstock blank.  I stamped the rabbit image onto another piece of Whisper White cardstock and added the "To My Wonderful" sentiment to the top left.  I then used the Brushwork Alphabet photopolymer stamp set to add the word Wife underneath.  Using the same set I stamped Ruby on to a smaller piece of Whisper White card, and the Anniversary stamp is from an LOTV sentiment set I already had in my collection.  I mounted both onto pieces of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and laid out on the card with the Ruby Anniversary overlapping slightly.  To finish the card off and give it a little more love, I added some hearts cut using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, and a strip of Very Vanilla Lace Trim.  I found Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue perfect for sticking the tiny hearts down, and used the trusty Stampin' Dimensionals to make the sentiment lift and "pop" off the card.

I hope you all love this card as much as I do, and I hope the recipients did too!

Remember all Stampin' Up! products used are available from my online shop (remember to use the hostess code 747R2KPW) or just give me a call to place an order on 07841518863.  Until the 31st July for every £45 you spend you will receive a £4.50 coupon to use against orders in August so don't delay order today!  I can't wait to hear from you!

Tawny Owls, Wednesday Owls, and Thankful Owls!

Happy Saturday everyone!

I've been waiting so long for this, but today is the day I can finally share my owls with you all!   There are three cards to share today, so a word of warning, this may be a lengthy post!

Towards the end of May, a colleague of mine asked if I could make a card for her sister's birthday.  She told me that she was a Tawny Owl at a Brownies group, and she'd like to somehow incorporate an owl onto the card.  I knew that there was an Owl Builder Punch so thought this would be perfect to use for a card - unfortunately, however, it turned out that this punch was on the retiring list and had already sold out :(  So, I turned to my up line and fellow demonstrators and was rescued by one of the ladies in our group - the wonderful Jenny from Wales had the punch and kindly helped me out!

Having solved the Owl situation, this was the card I created:

I decided to go with Yellow and Brown for the majority of the card as these are the colours of the brownies uniform.  Products used for this card come from a variety of Stampin' Up! collections so let me go through them all with you.  Starting with the stripy paper, this is one side of a sheet of double sided Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.  The ribbon is Double Stitched 1/4" (6.4 mm) Daffodil Delight.  The owl is punched from Early Espresso cardstock (I think) and Whisper White cardstock.  The yellow part of the eyes and the heart were actually punched in white, but I inked them up using Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Ink Pad.  I stamped the little daisy trio stamps from the Daisy Delight Photopolymer Stamp Set onto the chest piece also in Daffodil Delight.  The balloons, again stamped in Daffodil Delight and Gumball Green (an old 2012-2014 In Color),  and the Happy Birthday sentiment were from the Balloon Celebration Photopolymer Stamp Set with the balloons being punched out using the Balloon Bouquet Punch.  Finally, I added a tag cut using the Big Shot and Tags & Labels Die Framelits (retired) and stamped her name using the Brushwork Alphabet Photopolymer Stamp Set

Next is the card I made for my boyfriend's birthday.  He is an avid Sheffield Wednesday supporter, so as I had some owls left over I immediately knew what I wanted to do for his card!

Using the corner of the diagonal striped Dapper Denim Designer Series Backgrounds Papers In Color 2016-2018 (retired) I turned this so the stripes were vertical on the card so as to match the Wednesday kit.  I used the Best Badge Punch to punch out a blue shield in Dapper Denim Cardstock and a slightly smaller one in Whisper White Cardstock.  I stuck these to the point of the background paper.  Onto this shield, I added an Owl  with it's jacket stamped with Dapper Denim using the stripy stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge set (retired).  I finished the card with the sentiment "I knew I liked you the first time I saw you" from the Nailed It set (retired).

Finally, I wanted to say thank you to my fellow demonstrator Jenny for her assistance with the owls, so I decided to use one on a card especially for her!

I combined this with the Flirty Flamingo Designer Series Backgrounds Papers In Color 2016-2018 (retired) and the new Daisy Delight Stamp set and Daisy Punch (please note: at time of publishing this post the punch is currently out of stock, please contact me if you wish to purchase this and I will advise when it is expected to be back in stock).  For this card, I went with the Flirty Flamingo colour scheme from the 2016-2018 In Color collection.  I stamped the Thank You sentiment from the Daisy Delight Stamp set onto the card blank, alternating the intensity on each line by stamping straight to the card to give the bold image then stamping again underneath to give a shadow effect.  The daisy was punched from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and Whisper White Cardstock with the centre of the daisy being fixed with a Stampin' Dimensional to give a bit of depth.

My inspiration for this card was from the Stampin' Success Thoughtfulness card:

Lastly, I remembered to take a photo of the envelope for this card, I just added a daisy to the front just off the bottom corner, and the trio of mini daisies to the back:

Thanks for your visit today!  Don't forget you can also find me on Facebook @Jenfielou.StampinUp and Pinterest.  There will be a new hostess code coming soon so make sure you have a look for the latest code before placing your next order through my online shop (open 24-7!)
