If you put your mind to it...

Good Evening to you all!  I hope you have had a good Bank Holiday weekend, I spent the weekend down in Devon visiting family which was lovely! Shame it's all over so quickly!

Well I decided to try something new in August and I signed up to the Stampin' Up! "You Can Create It" monthly challenge run by Monica and Teri here in the UK.  I first met Monica back in October 2012 at the GNPE in Harrogate, where she introduced me to Stampin' Up!  Since then I have followed in awe of her creations!  Well, a few months back I heard about the "You Can Create It" challenge on her blog, and this month I finally got round to entering.

So each month they send you a little Mystery Kit containing a few Stampin' Up! supplies. The Challenge is for you to use those supplies to create a project.  You must use at least a part of everything provided in the kit.  The kit received this month consisted of a piece of White card, a spotty velum gift bag, and a small pearl embellishment.

When it arrived I thought "what am I supposed to do with that?!" (yes, I realise that is the "challenge" part!) So I left the kit in my craft room and continued to tidy the house a little...then all of a sudden I had an idea and off I went... There were three family/friend's wedding anniversaries coming up at the end of August and I realised that as two of them would be 1st wedding anniversaries, the traditional theme is paper!  I created these two cards, adding a little black card and additional ribbon, along with a Lili of the Valley anniversary stamp.

Then, using the last of the ribbon and the last of the spotty gift bag that I had cut down I made a third card.  This one was on a cream card rather than the white like before.  I also used a corner punch to slot the Anniversary sentiment tag into.

So there we have it, another challenge entered! Would you believe, I also have some more cards made from my recent new purchases from Lili of the Valley (well they had a promotion on - I couldn't resist!) however, you'll have to check back for my next update for those, promise it won't be too long away!

Challenge Accepted!

Good Morning!

Back again for the 3rd post of the weekend! Just a quick one today though, after my update yesterday I actually drew a blank as to what to do next so I decided to look for some sketch ideas and found Freshly Made Sketches sketch 198
Using some left over papers from Craftwork Cards Krafty Christmas goodybag from last year, some green glitter paper from Hobbycraft, and two mugs from the Scentsational Season set stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green all from Stampin Up, I came up with my entry to this challenge.

In fact, I liked it so much, I made two! :)

So, that's all for today.  Fingers crossed for the challenge, but it was definitely fun to take part again - and enter before the challenge ends this time!!

Putting the Christmas songs back on now, time to keep crafting :)

Weddings, wishes, and..... festive cheer? (August - too soon?)

On this beautiful sunny Saturday, I thought I'd treat you to another blog update :)

Once again these cards were made back in June, I just hadn't transferred them from the camera to the computer to share them with you! ooops!

Just a note for anyone reading in the Chesterfield, Derbyshire area - if you are interested in purchasing any of these cards or the ones shown on previous posts, many are available at Chatsworth Beauty Therapies

I decided to create a batch of Wedding cards all along the same theme, I reached the decision that if I like a layout why change it?! Hopefully if I like them then maybe you will too!  Still, no two cards will be identical when it comes to stamping.  Only thing I need to learn next is how to colour skin and hair so the bride and groom can also be more personalised.  Give me time (and a new set of ProMarkers) and I might get there ;)

Next up are two birthday cards, both use images from Lili of the Valley art pads - "My Best Friend" and "Wild Flowers"

I've recently been putting my birthday presents, the We R Memory Keepers Gift Bag & Envelope punch boards, to use.

My first attempt:

As the large gift bag using the board only measures 9.5 cm wide, I've been having a look through YouTube for some videos on how to make bigger gift bags.  Thanks to this video from Crafty Village I realised it is possible to make larger bags and so out I went to buy big sheets of paper (from Paperchase) to make these bags measuring 14.5 cm and 18.5 cm wide.

Well, that takes me to the end of my photos - any cards I've made since these it would appear I never took photos of (or have lost them!) Unfortunately, I know of at least 3 cards I've made that I can't show you and I'm kicking myself for it now :(

Before I leave you, I will share a sneak peek of my festive creations - it may only be August but if I start crafting now then hopefully I'll have enough cards come December!

Have a wonderful weekend everybody.

The boys are back in town!

Well, it has been a lot longer than I'd intended between blog updates! It would appear that I uploaded my photos for this blog update waaaaaaay back in June but never got round to posting them! I think my excuse might have been that I had made this birthday card for the new man in my life but didn't want him to see it on here first....probably nothing to do with that but it's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! hehehe

Let's hear it for the boys!

For those crafty followers of the Handmade by Jenfie blog:
Images are from Lili of the Valley - these are all in the Vintage Boys art pad
Papers were from a selection of leftovers but I think some Lili of the Valley and some Back to Basics feature in there!

Wishing you all a wonderful day, thank you for visiting!
