Birthdays with Birds & Blooms

Hi All,

Today is a short and sweet update to share a few birthday cards I made (last year) using with the Craftwork Cards Birds and Blooms kit, which I purchased when I went to my first CWC workshop!

I'm hoping to be back with the new creations from last weekend's workshop soon!

In the Potting Shed

This one is for you green fingered friends!

Using the LOTV stamp "In the Shed" and Craftwork Cards "The Potting Shed" paper pad, which fit together perfectly, I created the following cards.  These cards are ideal for anyone who has a passion for their sheds/gardens/allotments.

As I don't have many male focused cards in my basket currently, I decided to tag a couple of these.  So I dug out some paper string, and added a "Dad" and "Husband" tag from the LOTV Family Sentiment Tags set.

I also entered the Dad card into the LOTV January Challenge last weekend.  The theme was Anything Goes! To be eligible my card had to fit the theme (easy to do when it's Anything Goes!) and feature an LOTV image of course.  So, by using the "In the Shed" stamp and the "Dad" Sentiment tag, I thought this would be perfect :)

I'm off to Craftwork Cards for a workshop this weekend, so I'm looking forward to sharing our creations with you in the upcoming posts :) Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again soon.

Follow your dreams

Hope you've had a great start to 2017 so far, I can't believe it's half way through January already!  Well, I've decided 2017 is the year to Follow your Dreams!

My first card to share with you is a Stampin' Up, Lili of the Valley, and Craftwork Cards mash up!  Featuring Stampin' Up black and clear striped vellum and a sheet of black glitter card, which I trimmed down into a half inch strip, Craftwork Cards Zebra print candi, and LOTV's horse stamp from the Little Critters Farmyard Friends set and finished with the Follow your Dreams Block Sentiment.

Exciting News - Today, we saw one of our dreams become a reality, and are now the proud owners of...a mortgage!  We finally completed on our house today - only 12 days later than planned which I guess isn't too bad going.
However, this lends rather well to this "New Home" card - don't worry, I didn't send it to myself, although I was tempted!  Both of the following cards use the Little Critters Bunny Friends images and messages, and papers from the LOTV & Nitwit collection Enchantment paper pad.

That's all for now folks!

Time for Cake

If you're not peckish already, you might be later after taking a peek at these delicious cupcake cards!

All of my cupcake cards are cut out by hand, one by one, I'm still trying to find an easier, neater way to do this but as yet I've had no luck.  Each is decorated with patterned paper for the bun cases, and of course candi for the sprinkles on top.

Sentiments - Mini birthday messages black
Candi - Cool Yule and one I've had for a while but have no idea what it's called!
For the top of the case I've used Platinum Pearl Liquid Pearls to add a little definition

Sentiments from the Birds & Blooms kit from Craftwork Cards, I can't find this on the website so not sure if it's still available.  It's a gorgeous kit though!
Candi - Notting Hill
I've used White Opal Liquid Pearls to add a little definition to the topper sentiment.

Again, sentiments from the Birds & Blooms kit from Craftwork Cards.
Candi - Notting Hill and Covent Garden
I've used Platinum Pearl Liquid Pearls in each corner of the Special Mum sentiment, and glitter card from my stash for the case itself, to add sparkle galore!

I just called, to say....Happy Birthday!

I have two quick cards for you today...

First up is a LOTV Happy Cat who just wants to say Happy Birthday :)
I found the patterned paper in my local craft shop Time2Craft and instantly fell in love with it, it makes the perfect backing for the Happy Cat stamps.

Followed up by a star player of The Beautiful Game for the female football fanatic!  I love this "little folk" set as it comes with two player stamps, a male and a female design, and they are slightly smaller than the usual LOTV stamps.

I'm bringing cupcakes back to the blog soon, hope you're hungry ;)

Happy new year! Happy new year! May we all have a vision now and then of a world where every neighbour is a friend

Happy New Year! Good bye 2016, wishing for a better 2017!

On reflection, as crazy as 2016 has been, I can happily state that this year has actually been good to us! At the beginning of the year I set some personal achievement goals, and whilst I haven't met them all or in quite the timescale I'd wished, I am extremely happy with what we have achieved this year! :)

Whilst I know it is a new year and a new start, I do have a final Christmas card update for you today.  For those of you who have followed my blog updates for a while, you may remember way back in 2015 I shared my gingerbread man army with you...if not, here's a reminder:

Well, these are the cards the gingerbread men made it on to!  Using papers and messages from Craftwork Cards, along with the mug and steam from the Stampin' Up Scentational Season kit.

Last but not least, some mini (4"x4") Christmas Trees, again the stamp is from the Stampin' Up Scentational Season kit, and papers from LOTV.  I love making these cards and they will crop up possibly every year!

Well, I can now officially say farewell to Christmas and to 2016 (I have already started on the festive cards for 2017 but not sure it's the right time to share them just yet!) So breathe a sigh of relief and have an excellent start to your new year!

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog over the past year, I look forward to sharing more cards with you in the year ahead.
