Time Flies when you are having fun!

HELLO!!! I am back after a longer than planned break from the blog - my exams are done and I found out last week that I passed the first one, I should find out about the final one next week so am keeping everything crossed!  I've also been away on holiday in Turkey and only got back in the early hours this morning, glad I seem to have brought the sun back with me, I think I will be spending the afternoon in the garden pretending I am still on holiday! :-)

Anyway enough about me and my goings on, the reason I am here is to share some more of my recent card makes with you - please let me know what you think!

Using step cards and printers block lettering from Craftwork Cards and for you circular sentiment and all our dreams stamps from Lili of the Valley I created a couple more personalised new baby cards.

Next up is a 4x4 card which uses backing paper from Dovecraft's Princess Fairytale collection, and I have stamped the warren design onto a circular die cut - I was going to colour it in but I actually really liked it as it was so that is how it stayed!

Time certainly flies when you are having fun, speaking of which I have created a number of new cards using the TimeFlies collection from Craftwork Cards  The first of which was made for my sister for her graduation and I love it!

This next card again uses the TimeFlies collection and I have added a few strips of washi tape a friend bought me for my birthday as I thought the colours matched pretty well for this collection.  The card design was inspired by a sketch I saw on Seize the Sketch blog way back at the beginning of August!  Unfortunately I made this card a little too late to enter the contest but I had fun making it and that is all that matters! :-)

The above card was for my parents wedding anniversary, and used the happy circular sentiment stamp from Lili of the Valley which works perfectly as it has little butterflies on it.  I cut the purple circle out of an off cut of card and used the left over section to make the below simple 4x4 birthday card.  Always good to use up every last bit of card!

Finally, I made the below card for my friend at work just before my holiday as she had already seen all the other cards I had already made up and so I wanted to make a new special one for her.  Thankfully it arrived on time for her birthday!

So, That's all for now, I plan on enjoying a bit more sun and then I will be starting to get on with making some Christmas cards as well as whatever else takes my fancy or my creativity allows!

Until then, take care :-)

Baby Boom!

Hello again!

I may be a little late to the party (no change there) but in celebration of the recent birth of Prince George Alexander Louis, what better way to celebrate than to have a baby blog post! (Now that would be a long name to fit on a personalised card!)

Here for you, a selection of baby cards I have made over the last few years, I hope you like them -

Embellishments and papers are from a variety of suppliers including Craftwork CardsLili of the Valley and Meiflower as well as a few embossing folders for the Cuttlebug :-)

So, as it is now August, I have a lot of revision to do as I have 2 final exams to take (and hopefully pass) and then I can move on to more exciting things....like starting on the Christmas cards! So I may be a little quiet for a few weeks but I hope you can join me at the end of the month for some festive cheer ;-)

Summer Distractions!

Hello to you all!

Thanks for stopping by.  It's been a while since my last post, time is going so quickly I just can't believe it is the middle of July already! I have noticed a few other blogs have started on the Christmas card posts already, but as July is the month of my birthday (today!) then I refuse to start thinking about Christmas just yet...maybe next month!

So, back to SUMMER! I hope you have all been enjoying the British "Heatwave" Sun, I certainly have been, it's making the fact that I haven't got another holiday booked yet not feel quite so bad! It has, however, been a little bit of a distraction from everything I should have been doing, you know like studying and crafting! The gorgeous weather, Murray winning Wimbledon, making the most of my last month's gym membership by doing as many new fitness classes as I can and an 11 hour day a week at college have meant I haven't made many but I do have a few new cards to show you today :-)

Kicking off with a simple congratulations card using the new Time Flies collection from Craftwork Cards. I think the papers in this kit are just gorgeous, I have a soft spot for butterflies so I can't wait to play some more with this collection!

Next up are a some more cards made using the Black Magic Goodybox from Craftwork Cards

The first one uses a Happy Circular Sentiment stamp from Lili of the Valley which I just had to add as I had to try out using my new circular framelits for my cuttlebug....little things!

Finally, a card that I started a while back when I bought this gorgeous Cinderella stamp.  I'd coloured the image in using my Rose Pink Promarker and just added some spots of sparkle using diamond Stickles glitter glue, then finished off with another Lili of the Valley circle sentiment.

That's all there is for today, and as it is my birthday, I will now go celebrate! I have a few more cards to share with you but will hold them until next time, which I won't leave quite as long to post!

Enjoy the rest of the lovely weather, it's nice to have a proper summer again at last!

Weddings Galore!

Hello again!

Having had a bit of a hectic weekend last weekend - with my cats developing hayfever and a water leak dripping through the loft hatch! - I still found the time to make a few cards.  Crafting made a very welcome escape! The week since then has involved a night back at college, a night catching up with old colleagues - which was great and well overdue, and finished last night with a trip up to York to visit family.  So today, I just enjoyed the nice weather :-)

However, I did promise a wedding themed post a while back so it is time to fulfill that promise.  I will start with the card I made back then for a family friend, I heard that the colour scheme was pink so I decided to go along with the theme:

Following on from this I was asked to make a couple more wedding cards.  The first uses backing paper from Lili of the Valley Classic Christmas Paper Pad, the sentiment is also from LOTV which I stamped and then heat embossed - which I have to admit was kinda fun!

The next card was for more of a blue themed wedding, I added platinum liquid pearls to the scalloped edge to add a little extra something.  This card can be personalised later or left as it is I think as it is quite simple.

I also spent a good while sorting through some boxes of crafty bits that I had obviously been using a while back but not had time to put back in any order and came across some old Warren die cuts from Craftwork Cards.  I had a go at colouring in using my promarkers and then embossed the die cut with the daisy cuttlebug embossing folder to make the below birthday card:

I love these Warren designs and as I have found a fair few in my collection I can expect that I will be using them more in the coming months :-)

That's all there is folks...for now at least.

Thanks for checking out my blog, if you like what you've seen please feel free to share with friends or get in touch.

LOTV Challenge!

Hello!

It's been a while since I last updated (I went to London for a "musicals and friends" weekend last week!) However, I hope today's post makes up for it a little bit.  I decided today that I was going to make a card to enter into the Lili of the Valley monthly challenge, which this month is "Use a Sentiment" - this will also be my very first challenge entry so fingers crossed!

I have a fair few sentiment stamps from LOTV, most of which are Christmas themed and as it is June I decided it is still a little early for me to be thinking about the C word! So I looked at my most recent purchases which were the For You Circular Sentiments and the All Our Dreams stamps and so a Baby card it was to be.  I also used the LOTV Classic Christmas Paper for the background - obviously the least Christmassy pattern for a Baby card.

Here is my finished result, I hope you like it :-)

As always, thank you for visiting, I will be back to update you all with a few more recent card makes very soon.  Please feel free to leave me a comment below to let me know what you think :-)

Change of plans!

Hi Everyone,

I had planned to update earlier in the week with a wedding themed post, however, having had a rather busy week at work and the opportunity to make the most of the beautiful weather, my crafting intentions didn't go quite to plan.  Also, I realised that it probably wouldn't be the best idea to show you all a picture of the wedding card I've made this week, since the wedding hasn't actually happened yet and I don't want the Bride & Groom to be to see their card on here before the big day!!

So, instead I will show you the engagement card I made for my Brother and his Fiancee:

The backing paper and flowers for this card are from the Bohemian Goodybag from Craftwork Cards
The Vintage Dots Honey Candi just finish the card off perfectly.

Next up, are some more cards I made using the Dolly Mixtures rage, I've left them sentiment free so that they can be personalised later.

And finally, going back to the Birthday theme from last week I just wanted to show you two more.  First up is a card I was asked to make for a friend's sister's 40th - the request was "girly, sparkly, silver", I think I got everything in there!

This card again used the Bohemian goodybag from Craftwork Cards, the Kraft birdcage was finished off with some Stickles glitter glue.

Last but certainly not least is, as promised, the birthday card I made for my sister.
Sprinkles were created using Covent Garden Candi and a Happy Birthday message.

As always, Thank You for stopping by :-)  I hope you all have had a lovely weekend and fingers crossed the sun will stay with us for a little while longer!

Birthday Celebrations

What a gorgeous day it has been today celebrating my sister's Birthday - a day of Sun, Scones and Socialising! :-)

As we were celebrating a birthday I thought I would update with a selection of the various birthday cards I have made over the last year or so.  Maybe you received one of these, or maybe you will see yours here before I decide it is for you (sorry if that happens at any point!)   I haven't got one of the card I made for my sister as I forgot to take a photo of it, but I will include it on a future post once I've got it!

If you have any questions or have any requests please leave me a comment below.  I have a few orders in for cards at the moment which include a few Wedding Day cards so my next post may be wedding themed I feel...best get crafting! Thanks again for visiting, I will try to post at a more reasonable time of day next time...

Here Goes!

Hello and Welcome to my new (and very first) blog! Hopefully this blog will enable me to share with you some of my "Handmade by Jenfie" greeting cards.  I've never been particularly good at keeping diaries, or writing much of interest, but fingers crossed, I will get better and share some of my creations along the way :-)  I hope you enjoy, feel free to leave comments or get in touch.

A few photos of recent makes to begin with, all using the Dolly Mixtures Cheryl and Coleen ranges from Craftwork Cards

Using the Cheryl papers:

 Using the Coleen papers:

I've left the ticket "sentiment free" for now on this one so that it can be personalised later.

The below were two I made yesterday using the Black Magic Goody box also from Craftwork Cards.

I hope you like my designs so far, as it is now very late I should really stop blogging and start sleeping! Will be back to share some more...when I've made some more :-)

Thanks for visiting
